Gift Ideas

Think about things that an adrenaline junkie would love to experience.
- There are tonnes of activities that work here. Just a few suggestions…
  - Air based: bungee jumping, skydiving (indoor or outdoor), paragliding, hang gliding, hot air balloon ride, trampolining, take a flight lesson, try a flight simulator, helicopter ride, gliding
  - Water based: white water rafting, whale watching, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, parasailing, wind surfing, kite boarding, shark diving, swimming with dolphins, surfing
  - Summer based: horseback riding, caving, rock climbing, mountain biking
  - Winter based: track sports (luge, bobsleigh, skeleton), dog sledding, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling…
  - Vehicle based: race car driving (including drifting and stunt car), ATV-ing
  - Course based: ziplining, adventure courses (eg: Via Ferrata)
  - Team based: paintball, laser tag
  - Miscellaneous crazy sports: zorbing, archery, axe throwing, motorcycle sidecar tours, waterfall rapelling
  - Don’t see what you’re looking for? Do an online search for local thrills like the Skyline luge in Calgary or the CN Tower EdgeWalk in Toronto.
- Consider activities that might give your giftee palpitations, but aren’t necessarily extreme sports. For example:
  - Movies involving high adrenaline (eg: scary movies or intense, action movies like The Fast and the Furious). Scary books can work here too.
  - Some zoos have programs like “Zookeeper for a day” which allow you to interact with animals.
  - Spend the day at an amusement park and find the scariest rollercoaster.
  - Play a video game that involves extreme activities like racing, skydiving or skiing.
  - Give your giftee a charge with a caffeine related gift (eg: beverages, chocolate covered coffee beans)
  - Or visit a local dive bar and take a walk on the wild side of dining.
Think about ways your giftee can be better prepared for the activities they love to do. Register them in a first aid or wilderness survival course.
You can keep the theme simple and just present gifts around adrenaline or you can incorporate other themes. Wrapping

Try wrapping your gift with plain paper and applying pictures of adventurous activities onto the gift, or draw them on yourself.
Use your gift to inspire the wrapping. For example:
- Gift: bungee jump. Wrapping: use a bungee cord as ribbon.
- Gift: hot air ballooning. Wrapping: attach several helium balloons.
- Gift: skydiving. Wrapping: tie a mini paratrooper (available at many dollar stores) into the ribbon around the gift.
- Gift: swimming with dolphins. Wrapping: attach a stuffed/toy dolphin to the ribbon.
For smaller gifts, add a unique touch by making your own box.

Presentation

Use quotes or phrases that relate to your theme when you present the gifts or in your card. For example:
- This year I decided to play ‘dare-devil’s’ advocate.
- Happy birthday to the king of the ‘thrill’!
- It’s ‘rush’ hour! Happy birthday!
- Thrill seek and ye shall find.
