10th Anniversary

Whether it was a decade that whizzed by or it was 3652 days of magical moments and memories, ten years is an impressive milestone.

• Traditional 10th anniversary gifts include tin, aluminum, daffodils and diamonds. These could be incorporated into your theme.
  • Give some tins of soup, or wrap your gifts in aluminum foil.
  • Daffodils: use a bouquet of daffodils and if you would like ideas in how to present them, refer to yellow under the Colours category or go with our Smell or Vision theme under Senses.
  • Diamonds: there’s a good chance a diamond started this thing off and now it’s come full circle as he 10th anniversary stone is the same. If you’re giving a diamond, take a look at our Rock, Paper, Scissors, Good Things Come to Those Who Wait or use the Earth theme from our Elements category.
• 10 is the atomic number for neon. Consider going somewhere with neon lighting (some restaurants have this) or take a trip to Las Vegas.
• The 10th century is associated with the dark ages (go somewhere dark like glow bowling/mini golf) and the invention of fireworks (which we suggest using only in locations where it is safe and legal). 
• 10 is a perfect score in many judged sports. Take your giftee to watch a sports event or just plan a ‘perfect’ day for them. 
• 10 is the first year in the double digits. Work with ‘double’. For instance:
  • Sports fan? Go to a double header.
  • Need a new bed? Give them a double mattress.
  • Other options: double sided tape, double bubble (do they make that anymore?), double chocolate cookies, etc. 
• 10 fingers, 10 toes. Try something that involves them all (eg: go paint some pottery, then play soccer).
• 10 is the number of sports in a decathlon. Make your own custom decathlon. A sample of ‘events’ could include: sleeping in, bacon eating, bowling, sundae making, board games, etc.
• 10 = X in Roman numerals. Try playing with ‘X’ in the gift (eg: X marks the spot-use the Treasure Hunt theme). 
• 10 is the sum of 1+2+3+4. You could give 1 necklace, 2 earrings, 3 shirts and 4 daffodils. 
• 1-0 are the only numbers in binary code. You could work in electronics/software here.
