Colours

Overview

  • This theme is as simple as it sounds. You can stick with one colour or use several.
  • If your giftee has a favorite colour, try working with that . If they’re eco-friendly, go with a green theme.
  • Try using the uniform colours in your giftee’s favourite sports team.
  • Use wrapping paper in your colour of choice. Or wrap the gift in white paper but doodle on it with a coloured marker.
  • If you have school aged kids (or you’re a kid at heart) have them draw on the wrapping paper or make a collage with it.
  • Try an online search for the colour you want and print out the coolest image you find, then use that as wrapping paper.
  • Tie a small item related to the colour(s) you chose into the ribbon around the gift (eg: a rose, a leaf, crayons).
  • You can start by letting your giftee know that you’ve based their gift around a colour, or many colours, and why.
  • People love to know that you’ve listened to them and know their likes and dislikes. So you can tell them that you know their favorite color is blue, so you based the gift around that.
  • Or you might take a feeling that the colour evokes and roll with that. For instance, “yellow is a bright cheerful color, and it makes me think of you” or “red is the universal colour of love and I wanted to let you know how loved you are”.
  • Use quotes or phrases that relate to your theme when you present the gifts or in your card. For example:
    • Your beautiful garden and green thumb inspired this gift.
    • Once in a blue moon, you meet someone who makes you feel special.
    • I hope this gift makes your day a bit more colourful.
