Rest & Relaxation

Overview

  • This theme can work for anyone. Who couldn’t use a little R & R?
  • It’s a nice touch if someone is going through a busy or stressful time (school, exams, new parents, etc).
  • Put a picture of your giftee looking relaxed on the outside of the gift.
  • Wrap smaller gifts in a pair of cozy socks or use one of those calming gel eye packs as ‘ribbon’.
  • Spray the outside of the gift with your giftee’s favorite aromatherapy scent (lavender, eucalyptus…).
  • Try starting out by acknowledging how much you appreciate what they do, and how much stress they may be under.
  • You could ask them to take 5 deep breaths before they even open their first gift.
  • Start with the simplest gift and work your way up to the one you think your giftee will like the most.
  • Get in touch with your inner child and create a “coupon book”. Remember those? For example, bind together some sheets of paper, each one stating something like ‘this coupon entitles the bearer to a 20 minute massage redeemable at anytime’.
  • Use quotes or phrases that relate to your theme when you present the gifts or in your card. For example:
    • Hope you get a chance to “give it a rest” this birthday.
    • Rest assured, all the extra work you’ve been putting in hasn’t gone unnoticed.
    • Stressed spelled backwards is “desserts”…take time to enjoy something sweet.
    • Hope this little stress reduction kit helps.
    • It’s your birthday. Chill out.
    • Take time to stop and smell the roses.
