Road Trip

Overview

  • This theme works well if you have a road trip coming up but, even if you don’t, it’s perfect for that person in your life who loves the open road.
  • Even if there are no planned road trips, you could present the gift as preparation for the next one.
  • Car-based gift wrap is often easily attainable, but you could also try wrapping your gift with plain paper and applying/drawing pictures related to road trips (eg: maps, road signs).
  • Print off a picture of a road and use it like a ribbon around the gift. Attach a toy car on top instead of a bow.
  • Think about wrapping the gift in an old map that you never use anymore (you know, those ones that are still sitting in your glove compartment but haven’t been touched since smartphones were invented).
  • Tie a small road trip related item into the ribbon around the gift (eg: a tire gauge).
  • For smaller gifts, add a unique touch by making your own box.
  • Play a relevant song while your giftee is opening their gift (eg: “On the road again”, by Willie Nelson).
  • Watch a movie that involves a road trip to get in the mood (eg: Easy Rider, Little Miss Sunshine).
  • Use quotes or phrases that relate to your theme when you present the gifts or in your card. For example:
    • Happy birthday! I hope this gift helps you get the show on the road!
    • Time to hit the road! Have a great trip!
    • “When you come to a fork in the road, take it” ~Yogi Berra
